Wyoming, Mt. Rushmore, the Black Hills of South Dakota, Yellowstone and Teton National Parks. This trip takes you into spectacular scenery, the Old West and some of America’s iconic landmarks. Add some out door adventures and you will have memories for a life time.

Gateway Denver CO (DIA, Denver International Airport) or Chyeyenne WY (CYS)

The first day & Day 2 is a short and pretty 1 ½ hour drive that affords panoramic views of the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains. You will probably have time to start exploring the Old West of Cheyenne.  If you arrive in Denver early in the morning, consider a side trip to Estes Park, CO, and into Rocky Mountain National Park. Day 2 allow more time to enjoy Cheyenne’s rich western history.

Rise early on day 3, have a hearty breakfast and hit the trail for the Black Hills of South Dakota. Along the way you will be amazed by the beautiful sky and wide horizon while roughly following the Cheyenne Deadwood Stage Route. There is time to visit Ft Laramie National Historic Site and the Oregon Trail ruts on your way to Rapid City SD. Gateway (RCRA Rapid City SD Regional Airport)

Mount Rushmore is the center piece of the Black Hills along with Crazy Horse, the Needles Highway, and Bad Lands National Park. Spend all of day 4 enjoying the Black Hills before heading on to Buffalo Wy.

Day 5 takes you to Devils Tower and some more prairie  to Buffalo which sits at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains. There is an optional day here for a visit to Little Bighorn National Battlefield.

Gateway Billings MT  (BIL Billings Logan International Airport) Visit Little Bighorn National Battlefield on the way to Buffalo.

The beautiful drive over the Big Horn Mountains and on to Cody WY is Day 6. You can get a lazy start on Day 7 see some more of Cody and a scenic short drive to Red Lodge MT for all sorts of activities. Yellowstone closes in the winter the alternative drive will take you to Jackson WY.

Day 8 takes you over the spectacular Beartooth Highway and on into Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Day 9 and Day 10 you will tour the rest of the park including Old Faithful and Mammoth Hot Springs.

Gateway Jackson WY

Yellowstone National Park to Teton National Park is a short drive with lots of sightseeing and things to do during Day 11. And more wild life.

The trip for Day 12 takes you over scenic Togwotee Pass and the Bighorn River. Then across the Wind River Indian Reservation and past Split Rock to Elk Mountain WY a quintessential western ranching community.

Gateway Salt Lake City UT (SLC Salt Lake City International Airport) From Salt Lake City to Elk Mountain WY takes you along the Union Pacific Railroad with stops at Ft Bridger and the Wild Horse Loop Drive before you settle in for a wonderful dinner

Day 13 explores ranches as the were in the early west and over the scenic Snowy Range Road  with stops at the Lincoln Highway Summit and on to Cheyenne Wy

Return to Denver on Day 14 having enjoyed an exciting and wonderful holiday.
