Pecan Bars – Castle Marne Bed and Breakfast – Denver Colorado Judy was an Innkeeper of ours a couple years ago. She left us with this wonderful treat.

Serves 24
Ingredients:
Crust:
2 c. flour
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. chopped pecans
Topping:
2/3 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Crust:
Mix flour, sugar, and butter with a fork or pastry cutter until crumbly. Pat into an ungreased 9x13-inch pan. Sprinkle with pecans.
Topping:
Melt butter and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until it comes to a boil and continue cooking for about 1 minute. Immediately pour butter over crust and pecans. Bake for 18-20 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Allow to melt for a couple of minutes and then use a knife or the back of a spoon to swirl chocolate over the bars for a marbled effect. Cool and cut into bars.
