The Pollard Hotel was the first brick building ever constructed in the mining town of Red Lodge, Montana, and the doors opened for accommodation in 1893. As was typical of the times, the town’s signature property was located between the passenger train depot and the residential section of Red Lodge. The Pollard family bought the hotel in 1902 and owned and managed it until 1946. The Pollard Hotel hosted the famous and the notorious over the years, from well-known orator William Jennings Bryan to western legends Buffalo Bill Cody and Calamity Jane. The Pollard was completely restored offering lodging and restaurant, and reopened in 1994. The tradition of old-fashioned comfort is now paired with all the modern conveniences and with a very attentive staff. Red Lodge is located on the edge of the Rocky Mountains and Yellowstone National Park, offering guests year-round outdoor opportunities. The guest rooms and suites offer choices between mountain views or balconies that overlook the gallery and fireplace, with over sized whirlpool tubs and steam baths. The oak paneled public rooms welcome visitors to relax with a drink or a good book, and there is a fully equipped workout facility.
