Romantic Adventure with Historic Tradition
Historic Hotels of the Rockies (HHR) strives to attract visitors to our member hotels by capitalizing on our legendary history and image. These hotels provide an authentic, friendly, and quality visitor experience in conjunction with their respective communities. We focus on marketing that is difficult for our hotels to accomplish individually.
Our mission is to provide mutual support and to advance the common interests of our member hotels.
CRITERIA TO BECOME A MEMBER
Hotel meets National Register of Historic Places requirements
Hotel is maintained in a manner which enhances and is appropriate to the building's historic character
Hotel offers guests unique and memorable accommodations which reflect well upon all other members
Hotel is at least 50 years old
Hotel is in the Rocky Mountain Time Zone

Organization is over 26 years old, established in 1983
National Trust for Historic Preservation used the Historic Hotels of the Rockies association's model to establish the Historic Hotels of America association in 1989
This group of hotels appeals to travelers interested in cultural and heritage tourism, motivating them to visit multiple properties
Website, active for 20 years, describes each property and links directly to your website. Site consistently receives high rankings on primary search engines. Coming soon: More Road Trips

“Book Now” links directly to your property’s online booking engine. No commission to pay! In addition there are phone and email reservations.
Public Relations and Media Communications campaign distributes press releases and maintains a press kit to encourage travel writers and journalists to write stories about the association and member properties.
DUES BASED UPON NUMBER OF HOTEL ROOMS
Dues are between $550-$1000 per year. $500 base fee then add $10 per room with a cap of $1000.
