Day 1 - Wyoming Mt Rushmore Yellowstone Tetons 14 day trip

Arrive in Denver Colorado and drive to Cheyenne WY, -- Rocky Mt. National Park, Cheyenne history, Wyoming State Capitol, Cheyenne Depot Museum

Drive Time: 1 1/2 hours (highway time)

Sightseeing: Rocky Mt National Park CO & Cheyenne Wyoming

Day 1

This is a short and pretty drive that affords panoramic views of the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains known locally as the Front Range. If you arrive in Denver early in the morning, consider a side trip to Estes Park, CO, and into Rocky Mountain National Park with Fall River Road and Trail Ridge Road.

Day 2

Explore Cheyenne’s rich western history as the center of the “Old West” with cowboys, cattle barons, and the Transcontinental Railroad. Cheyenne was the transportation and communication hub of the West and for a period of about 40 years it was the richest city per capita in the world.

Directions: Exit the airport to I-70 West, then exit to I-25 North to I-80 East. Take Exit # 362 and turn Left on Central Ave to downtown Cheyenne.

Recommended Cheyenne stay is 2 nights, 1 very full day.
